Investigators on the scene of Beloit Township fire

BELOIT TOWNSHIP — Firefighters from a half-dozen area fire departments responded to a house fire early Friday morning at 822 S. Master's St., in the town of Beloit, according to a dispatcher at the Rock County Communications Center.

Firefighters were called at 3:46 a.m. to a blaze in a ranch-style home which sustained significant damage by the time the fire was extinguished. The town of Beloit, Turtle, city of Beloit and Edgerton plus South Beloit and Harlem/Roscoe from Illinois departments responded.

The scene was cordoned off with police tape and investigators remained on the scene through mid-morning.
