DELAVAN — Bigger isn’t always better, although that mantra was true for the Cars Time Forgot celebration.
However, the event’s growing popularity among vintage vehicle enthusiasts of all ages, unfortunately, had made it more dangerous. That’s because increasing numbers of entries and spectators created potential problems along Delavan’s high-traffic downtown streets.
So, this year’s ninth annual show has expanded from a four-hour event on a Sunday to a three-day celebration — July 6 through July 8. And it’s moved to a much bigger venue in Lake Lawn Resort, something that organizers are hoping will make it that much better for everyone involved.

BELOIT -- With the arrest earlier this month of one of the area's biggest show horse breeders, owners of horses that were bred at the stables are worried they won't be able to properly process their paperwork.
Rita Crundwell, owner of Mari-J Ranch in Beloit, has been accused in a $30 million scheme to defraud the city of Dixon, Ill., where she had been comptroller since the early 1980s.
She was arrested April 17, and on Monday was fired from her job with the city of Dixon. During a hearing in Rockford the day after her arrest, Crundwell was charged with one count of wire fraud and released. She is due back in court May 7.
The American Quarter Horse Association is monitoring the case closely, according to it's website. AQHA does have procedures to process registrations at the direction of courts, legal authorities and representatives appointed by them, according to the site.

Legislating isn’t the spectator sport that campaigning is. Maybe it’s because we quickly tire of the often-evasive positions candidates have on the issues, and our attention turns to handicapping the winners and losers.
Even though we just completed an election Tuesday, we seem to be in a perpetual campaign cycle, certainly on the state and national levels. Republicans were campaigning to remove Barack Obama from office before he even took the oath and Democrats began their campaign to remove Gov. Scott Walker even before they went to the polls.
